Evangelism - Jesus' Way

How Do We Evangelize?

Jesus taught his disciples principals of complete evangelism. His followers in the early church knew of them and practiced them. Christ described this complete evangelism when He outlined his plan for the ‘CHURCH’ in Matthew 16. The disciples listened carefully to his words and in their lifetime saw the “CHURCH” that HE described grow.

Matthew 16: 13-19, “When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “ Who do men say that I, the Son of man, am?” So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

He said to them, “But who do you say I am?” and Simon Peter answered and said, “YOU ARE THE CHRIST, the Son of the living GOD!” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but MY Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build MY church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. I WILL GIVE YOU KEYS of the kingdom of Heaven and whatever you bind on Earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in Heaven."

  • The “CHURCH” IS TO BE BUILT ON JESUS!!! Evangelistic efforts to add people to the “CHURCH” without a relationship with JESUS CHRIST will have no eternal value.

The CHURCH is Designed to Grow

  • There is a COST; it’s hard work to witness to the unsaved and to move forward HIS KINGDOM and kingdom thinking to the body of CHRIST.

  • It cannot be done well by individuals acting alone, it is best done by Spirit-filled people who think and work as a unit.

The CHURCH Will TRIUMPH!

  • We will win the souls of many to GOD’S KINGDOM!!

Jesus Will Provide the KEYS TO VICTORY!!!

HE wants the lost found. He wants HIS “CHURCH” to grow as it did in the book of Acts.

*The HOLY SPIRIT’S RESPONSIBILITY is to turn people’s hearts to GOD. As Paul described it, "I planted, Apollos watered. But GOD gave the increase, so neither he who plants, is anything, nor he who waters, but GOD who gives the increase." (1st Corinthians 3:6-7)

"THEN I HEARD THE LORD SAYING,

WHO SHALL I SEND? AND WHO WILL GO FOR US?

AND I SAID,  HERE I AM SEND ME.”

ISAIAH 6:8
